Itinerary
1
Our adventure begins in Vathy, the picturesque capital of Ithaca.

Standing beside the bust of Odysseus, we introduce the legendary king of Ithaca and explore the fascinating connection between the island we see today and the homeland described by Homer.
Explore the Archaeological Museum and Naval & Folklore Museum, discovering the island's ancient heritage, maritime traditions and rich local culture.
2
Continue your journey into the mountains to the Monastery of Kathara, one of the most important religious landmarks in Ithaca. Perched high above the island at around 600 metres, the monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is one of Ithaca's most spectacular panoramic viewpoints
3
In the heart of Stavros, we stop at the village square to see the striking bust of Odysseus.
Take a moment to explore the traditional village atmosphere, with its church, school, cafés and local shops.

A visit to the Archaeological Collection of Stavros brings the discoveries of the region to life.

The collection presents artefacts dating from the Early Bronze Age through the Roman period, including remarkable finds associated with the Homeric tradition, such as fragments of bronze geometric tripods and a Hellenistic mask referring to Odysseus.
4
Then continue to the archaeological site known as the School of Homer, where ancient remains, mythology and breathtaking views over Ithaca's rugged coastline come together.
5
Enjoy a relaxed Ithacan tasting lunch in Frikes, overlooking the picturesque harbour. The experience is designed around local flavours and seasonal ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, local cheeses, vegetables, traditional pies, fresh seafood or local meat,
6
Our next stop is the spectacular Bay of Polis, one of the most atmospheric places in northern Ithaca.
Here we discover the Cave of Loizos, an ancient sanctuary associated with the cult of Odysseus. Archaeological finds from the cave include offerings connected with the Phaeacians and the famous inscription “ΕΥΧΗΝ ΟΔΥΣΣΕΙ” — a prayer to Odysseus.

Please note: the cave itself is partially collapsed and is viewed from outside rather than entered.
7
We return through the northern Ithacan landscape, carrying with us a different vision of the island — not simply as the home of beautiful beaches and villages, but as a place where archaeology, mythology and living history continue to intertwine.
