The most famous beaches in Kefalonia!
Emplisi Beach:
This beach is known for its flat rock formations on both sides of the beach create a magical setting as well as serving sunbathers wanting to enjoy their privacy. The beach is not organized, so you can enjoy more the natural beauty with the surrounding lush vegetation and the crystal clear green waters. It is a great beach for families and children but it gets quite busy during the season. The access is by car and there is an open free parking space at the back of the beach.
Dafnoudi Beach:
Tucked between two lavish mountains this hidden gem is a well-kept secret spot only locals keep between each other! This unspoiled beach is located on the north of the island with extraordinary scenery & crystal clear waters. A hike of approximately 1.5km from the main road to the beach where you will hike between a dense forest which will unveil the pebble beach of Dafnoudi. The beach is unorganized & the car park is on the main road.
Good to Know: Highly recommend bringing with you drinks & snacks.
Myrtos Beach:
One of the most photographed beaches in the world Myrtos beach is by far one of the most popular beaches on the island. The large cost of turquoise waters, white sand & pebbles surrounded by stiff cliffs truly makes this beach magical! Visitors have the opportunity to relax and lounge around the beach bar & sunbeds or relax on their own in the different secluded areas of the beach! There is public parking in the outskirts of the beach but during the high season, it may get crowded.
Don’t forget to snap photos from the famous balcony from above! We recommend staying until sunset to truly enjoy the view!
Antisamos Beach:
One of the most gorgeous beaches in Kefalonia, Antisamos is a vast pebbled beach, surrounded by lush greenery. Here you can enjoy a broad variety of activities such as water sports, kayak & many more! For those who prefer to relax in the sun, Antisamos is also an organized beach with beach bars that offer sunbeds, lounge areas & food & drinks!
Ai Helis Beach :
Towering rock faces and beautiful greenery create the scenic backdrop to this large sweeping bay. The shallow, crystal clear waters and beautiful grey-brown sand make this beach ideal for families with children. Access is easy and the beach has organized sunbeds and umbrellas, a shower, a café/beach bar and it is especially popular with racket sport and volley ballplayers. In the summer months, there are organized beach parties. There is dual access to the beach (parking is 200m away) on one side the access is via steps and on the other by a short unpaved road.
Makris Gialos:
Located in the acclaimed strip of Lassi, only a few kilometers outside of the capital of Argostoli. Makris Gialos beach is famous for its crystal clear waters, golden sand & a vast variety of activities, and beach bars! The beach has easy access & free public parking.
The beach offers 2 beach bars that have a vast variety of food & drinks and water sport activities!
Avithos Beach:
This stunning beach with crystalline waters located southwest of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, and very close to the village of Svoronata. The beach consists of reddish sand and an impressive mountain backdrop. This stunning beach makes it ideal for families with children. The beach offers easy parking, sunbeds & umbrellas, and local surrounding tavernas with traditional Greek cuisine!
Xi Beach:
Known for its ruddy sand and clay cliffs, Xi Beach, is located in the area of Palliki, south of Lixouri. It is just 8 kilometers from the city and is vibrant and cosmopolitan. It is one of the most unique beaches in Greece due to its beautiful colors and crystal clear shallow waters.
